What is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy (PT) is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues that support the pelvic organs (bladder, uterus/prostrate and rectum). These muscles play a crucial role in bladder and bowel control, sexual function, core stability, and support during pregnancy and postpartum recovery.

What happens when pelvic floor is weak in females?

  • Urinary incontinence

  • Leaking urine when coughing, sneezing, laughing, or exercising
